Playing COD during my tween years is actually what sparked Marie and I’s friendship in the first place. Back then, not many girls played video games, so meeting someone who shared the same interests felt so exciting. But our friendship grew into so much more than that. We bonded over anime, old-school K-pop, high school crushes, and the shared experience of growing up with Filipino parents (don’t worry, we still love y’all). Through every stage of life — even during times we drifted — Marie always made sure our friendship stayed strong. Having someone who truly understands you, shares your culture and interests, and can laugh and cry with you while making new memories together is exactly why our friendship means so much to me.
